President Li Lu Led the Team to Attend the Academic Event of the 11th Academic Conference of Ningbo Social Science Alliance and the Academic Event for the Development of the “Elderly and Children” Health Care
On November 13, the Academic Event of the 11th Academic Conference of Ningbo Social Science Alliance and the Academic Event for the Development of “the Elderly and the Children” Health Care were held successfully. The academic event, themed “Promoting High-Quality Health Care Services for the Elderly and Children and Actively Responding to Population Aging”, was held with the aim of exploring more effective health safeguard measures and service models to enhance the health and well-being of these groups. It was also one of the series of academic activities held in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the founding of our university. This academic event was a major gathering in the fields of public health and social sciences in our province, where over 120 guests gathered in Ningbo to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on the health care of the groups of the “elderly and children”. They shared cutting-edge technologies and innovative ideas, making it an event of significant academic and social importance.
Professor Li Lu, Director of the Zhejiang Modern Service Industry Research Center and President of our university, led teachers and students from the Modern Service Research Institute and Shulan International Medical College to attend the event. He delivered a keynote speech titled “Policies for the Well-being of the ‘Elderly and Children’ based on Demographic Changes”. Liu Xiuli, Party Secretary of Ningbo College of Health Sciences, Jin Litai, President of the college, and relevant departments warmly received Professor Li Lu and other visitors.

In his keynote speech, Professor Li Lu revealed the trends and characteristics of population change in China through data statistics and analysis. Taking Zhejiang Province as an example, he meticulously sorted out practical issues such as the large supply-demand gap in the current elderly care and childcare service system for the “elderly and children” groups. Based on this, he proposed his thoughts on livelihood countermeasures for the “elderly and children” facing the future from three dimensions: “social service system, social support system, and digital-intelligence cooperation mechanism”. Meanwhile, he introduced the “Shuren’s Path” for talent education and training in the field of caring for the "elderly and children," providing a useful reference and practical insights for the formulation and implementation of livelihood countermeasures in this field in China.
