Zhejiang the 11th College Student Physical Scientific Innovation Contest was held in Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences recently. After fierce contest in links such as online defense, work presentation and expert assessment, the contest work of our university, “Firemen indoor positioning and environmental warning system based on physical kinematics theory”, won the first prize of Zhejiang.
The contest was jointly sponsored by Zhejiang College Student Scientific Innovation Contest Committee, Zhejiang Higher Education Physics Specialty Teaching Guide Committee and Zhejiang Association of Physics, with the theme of Physics and a Moderately Prosperous Society, Totally 1472 projects from 46 universities and colleges of the whole province participated in the contest, and 328 teams were selected into the final. This was the first time for our university to participate in provincial Physics Scientific Innovation Contest. Teachers of School of Information Science and Technologyand that of Teaching and Research Office of Physics ofSchool of Basic Science paid special attention to the contest since the notice was issued. All the participating students and guiding teachers prepared for it actively and finished investigation during earlier stage, manufacturing during middle stage and debugging during later stage, as well as compiling of papers, making of demonstration materials and defense. Finally, our team had an excellent performance in the contest. College of Information and Technology will promote the development of “innovation and entrepreneurship” education of the whole university based on similar scientific contests, to promote development of innovation awareness and entrepreneurship ability of students in our university.
