Recently, the final round of the First Yangtze River Delta Innovation Competition for University Students from Private Institutions was held at Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Polytechnic. With the theme of “Smart Innovation in the Yangtze River Delta, Leading a New Future,” the competition was guided by the Comprehensive Committee for Private Education of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, hosted by the Shanghai Private Education Association, co-organized by the private education associations of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces, and organized by Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Polytechnic. A total of 322 projects from the three provinces and one municipality participated in the competition. After intense competition in the preliminary and semi-final rounds, 12 projects from 10 universities, including our university’s entry Chang Gong Sports: A Pioneer in China’s Shooting Sports, advanced to the final round.

At the final, participating teams showcased their innovation and practical abilities through “project roadshows and defense sessions,” demonstrating strengths in innovation concepts, social value, business models, integration of industry and education, and future development plans.

As the chair institution of the Higher Education Branch of the Zhejiang Non-Governmental Education Association (with President Li Lu serving as Chair), our university responded proactively upon receiving the competition notice in March this year. The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (also the Office of the University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Leading Group) actively organized outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship teams to participate in the competition, ultimately submitting seven projects. After nearly three months of refinement, guidance, and competition, the project Longbow Sports: A Pioneer in China’s Shooting Sports (Project Leader: Zhang Xiangjie, School of Information Science and Technology) won the Second Prize; the projects Huiyang Sulian: Inclusive Urban-Rural Maintenance Service Platform (Project Leader: Zeng Ziheng, School of Information Science and Technology) and Vision Transmitter (Project Leader: An Jiahong, School of Information Science and Technology) received Third Prize; the projects Yinling Bio (Project Leader: Wang Zhequan, School of Biology and Environmental Engineering), Ximiao Dongxiu: Reviving Miao Embroidery Genes with Intelligent Design and Digital Notation (Project Leader: Wang Ziyu, School of Art), Zhouyang Green Valley: A Pioneer in Inclusive Smart Green Energy (Project Leader: Wang Youxiang, School of Biology and Environmental Engineering), and Shaping the Future (Project Leader: Yu Jietao, School of Economics and Management) were awarded the Excellence Prize.
