On May 16, a delegation of 25 representatives from universities in France, Poland, Hungary, Cyprus, Greece, and other countries visited our university to engage in an in-depth exchange and discussion on the theme of “Educational Informatization and AI Talent Development.” The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between both sides in the fields of educational informatization and artificial intelligence, and to jointly explore new pathways for digital transformation in education and talent development in the era of AI.

President Li Lu attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Vice President Ye Shiping presided over the session. The delegation included representatives from renowned universities such as the University of Pécs, University of Cyprus, Koszalin University of Technology, and University of Macedonia. The event was jointly organized by the Office of Information Technology, the School of Information Science and Technology, and the Office of International Affairs, with the aim of building an international cooperation platform and promoting dialogue and collaboration between Chinese and European universities in the field of smart education.
In his welcome address, President Li Lu provided a detailed overview of the university’s development and highlighted its innovative practices in advancing educational informatization through artificial intelligence. He noted that the university has achieved smart governance by constructing four major digital foundations, and has established the AI-powered “Shuzhi Learning Platform” and a digital twin campus, integrating “New Medical Sciences” with AI technologies in depth. Over the past three years, the university has undertaken more than 100 national-level research projects, with annual research funding exceeding RMB 200 million. Through the implementation of the “AI + Education” strategy, the university has achieved full coverage of AI general education courses. Students have won over 1,000 awards in national competitions, and the postgraduate admission rate for the Grade of 2025 in Clinical Medicine has reached 55%.

International Cooperation Agreements: Advancing China-Europe Collaboration in Educational Informatization
At the meeting, our university signed cooperation agreements with Koszalin University of Technology, University of Macedonia, Óbuda University, and University of Colorado Boulder. Both sides will establish closer China-Europe educational partnerships in areas such as academic exchange, faculty and student visits, and joint training programs.
During the meeting, President Li Lu proposed three key initiatives: Jointly building platforms and sharing resources: Promote mutual recognition of courses and faculty exchange to facilitate efficient sharing of educational resources; collaborative research and talent development: Cultivate globally competitive talents with both technological innovation capabilities and intercultural competence, driven by industry needs; co-developing standards and shaping the future: Foster dialogue among Chinese and European universities in smart education, contributing both “Eastern wisdom” and “European experience” to global educational informatization.
