On the morning of September 11th, President Li Lu walked into the classroom on Gongchenqiao Campus and taught the “First Lesson at the Beginning of the Semester” to all the junior students of the Clinical Medicine Program of Shulan International Medical College.

Following the timeline of “Medicine, from Divinity to Science”, President Li vividly presented a brief history of medicine to the students.

Citing the cases of AI doctors PK doctors from Grade-III Class-A Hospitals, President Li explained to the students that contemporary medicine was developing towards a science supported by digital information technology. He also stressed that medicine was a science, but it was also a human science. Medicine has the dual attributes of nature and humanity. President Li hoped that students could be competent and caring doctors according to the seven most basic competence standards of global medical education.

In particular, President Li introduced to the students the national policies of new medical science construction and the new medical science construction program of Zhejiang Shuren University. He encouraged the medical students to seize the new opportunities of the new medical science construction and take the initiative to meet the new challenges.
