Visit of the President of Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk

Recently, a delegation from Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk, including President Yury Ramanouski and Director of the International Relations Office Olga Zhuravskaya, visited our university for a three-day visit. On June 5, President Li Lu warmly received President Yury Ramanouski and his delegation. Vice President Ye Shiping, Executive Deputy Director of the Academic Committee Chen Zhi, Director of the Research Office Jin Jinbiao, Director of the Academic Affairs Office Jiang Wenjie, Director of the International Exchange Office Wang Yun, Dean of the School of Humanities and Foreign Languages Li Jianliang, and Director of the Belarus Research Center Wang Xianju attended the meeting. During the meeting, President Li Lu and President Yury Ramanouski signed the Letter of Intent to Establish a Confucius Institute and the Academic Exchange Agreement on behalf of their respective universities.

President Li Lu warmly welcomed President Yury Ramanouski’s visit and reviewed the recent exchanges between the two universities. He noted that there has been frequent bilateral exchange and that a solid foundation has been laid in terms of research collaboration. Both universities have achieved excellent results in areas such as the recruitment of high-level experts and the establishment of a joint intelligent image processing laboratory. Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk, founded in 1851, boasts a rich history of over 440 years and is one of the top comprehensive universities in Belarus. While our university is relatively young compared to Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk, we have experienced rapid development in fields such as environmental science and computer science, achieving commendable results in teaching and research. There are many areas of exchange and learning between the two universities, with ample room for cooperation. President Li Lu expressed his hope for further deepening of scientific and technological cooperation. Building upon the agreements signed during this visit, he emphasized the need to broaden the scope of cooperation and strengthen comprehensive collaboration.

President Yury Ramanouski expressed his gratitude to President Li Lu for the invitation, which provided him with the opportunity to visit our university. He highly appreciated our university's infrastructure and well-equipped teaching facilities. President Yury Ramanouski echoed President Li Lu’s remarks, agreeing that advancing cooperation between the two universities is not only essential for scientific and technological progress but also contributes to the comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Belarus. He emphasized the importance of nurturing more talent for the construction of the China-Belarus Industrial Park and proposed leveraging the establishment of the Confucius Institute to create a platform for exchanges between China and Belarus, particularly among young people.

Vice President Ye Shiping presented the research achievements of the “Intelligent Image Processing Laboratory” jointly established by Zhejiang Shuren University and Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk during the meeting. Following the meeting, he accompanied President Yury Ramanouski on a tour of the joint laboratories of the two universities and the Zhejiang Provincial International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Base for Remote Sensing Image Processing and Applications.

During the visit, President Yury Ramanouski and his delegation toured the Belarus Research Center, the Interdisciplinary Research Academy, the Structural Laboratory of the School of Urban Construction, as well as the Hetian Library, Yuelu Time, Mingzhe Academy, and the International Tea Culture Laboratory. They engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges with faculty and students from our university during the visit.
