On May 17, the Press Office of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education and the Head Office of Zhejiang Education Newspaper announced the results of the appraisal and selection of the Persons and Influencers of the Year 2022 in Education of Zhejiang. Recommended by readers and reviewed by experts, Tang Baokang from the Department of Scientific Research and Social Cooperation of Zhejiang Shuren University was awarded the Influencer of the Year 2022 in Education of Zhejiang.

Over the past four years, as one of the members dispatched from more than 40 colleges and universities in the province to stay at villages and assist to promote rural revitalization, he has witnessed the work and achievements of the provincial education system in the great practice of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. In November last year, the Education Work Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education led 109 colleges and universities of the province to establish the Zhejiang Provincial University-Assisted Rural Revitalization Alliance in Tiantai. The Alliance gives full play to the comprehensive advantages of disciplines, talents and technology of colleges and universities, continuously makes the golden name card of "agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents" of Zhejiang more well-known, and creates a demonstrative model of education-assisted rural revitalization with distinctive features of Zhejiang, to contribute educational wisdom to help Zhejiang promote the initiative of “common prosperity first and provincial modernization first” during the process of high quality development.

Since Zhejiang Shuren University partnered with Sanzhou Township of Tiantai County in 2008, the leaders of our university have visited the village for many times to study ways of offering assistance. From the aspects of assistance by projects, wisdom, talents, science and technology, and consumption, all departments of the university gave strong support and combined their efforts to help the village; high-level talents such as the professors of tea science and the doctors in tourism disciplines have been invited to Sanzhou Township for many times to advise on its industry development; foreign experts have participated in the activity of “Friends from Five Continents Drinking Sanzhou Tea Together" to help promote the tea culture and the culture of harmony in Tiantai; our students participated in the tea culture tourism festival and social practice activities of summer holiday... all of which highlight the support and concern of the teachers and students of our university to the rural revitalization.

Since 2008, Zhejiang Shuren University began to partner with and help Paimen Village, Sanzhou Township, Tiantai County. In 2019, Zhejiang Shuren University set up a working group to help people in villages. As the member assigned by our university for the first time to stay in village, Tang Baokang stayed in Sanzhou Township and assisted people there. Thanks to Tang Baokang's efforts, the remarkable achievements have been made in the cooperation between university and local organizations and the dispatch of people to stay in villages for partner assistance. There is no end for poverty alleviation, and rural revitalization is still being carried out. Tang Baokang is continuing his work in the village, and Zhejiang Shuren University will continuously contribute its efforts to the “Demonstration Area of Common Prosperity” in Zhejiang Province.
