On December 6, 2019, Li Lu, Principal of Zhejiang Shuren University, met with Motohisa Kaneko, a famous Japanese scholar in higher education research field, an outstanding professor of University of Tsukuba and an honorary professor of Tokyo University.

The two sides have exchanged views on the current situation and prospects of the development of non-governmental higher education in China and Japan, the opportunities and challenges they face, and the experiences and lessons they can refer to.

Motohisa Kaneko also gave a lecture entitled "Development of Higher Education and Private Universities" to teachers of the Institute of Non-governmental Higher Education of Zhejiang Shuren University.
