From January 17 to 19, 2016, Zhejiang Shuren University and York University in Canada jointly held the teacher training of "Transformation to Characteristic Application-oriented Undergraduate Colleges".

Taking the key concepts and modes of applied education, practice and case analysis, applied teaching curriculum design, teaching method and evaluation as the theme, this training explained the exterior-interior relationship between the transformation of universities and teachers, and emphasized the importance of the transformation to the development of higher education in the aspects of subjects, specialties, teaching and scientific research.

Peter Constantinou, an authoritative expert in the field of vocational education at York University, was responsible for delivering the training lectures. Nearly 80 people of teaching unit leaders, various disciplines, specialty leaders and backbone teachers of Shuren University participated in the training.
