From October 12-15, the national finals of the 7th China International College Students’ ‘Internet+’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held in Nanchang University. After the fierce competition, the project of “Through Cadmium Cut-off Technology, Be a Forerunner of Reducing and Controlling Cadmium Pollution in Crops While Producing” in which Zheng Zhuohan, Student of the School of Biology and Environmental Engineering, and Li Lanqi, Student of the Medical College, participated under the guidance and leadership of Du Shaoting and Liu Lijuan, Teachers of Interdisciplinary Research Academy came to the fore and won the Silver Medal of this National Competition!
The students’ team “Cadmium Cut-off” led by Ms. Du Shaoting started from the reduction of burdens on governments and farmers, originally created the in-situ cadmium control technology of abscisic acid fungus fertilizer, and integrated self-developed mineral nutrient regulation and management to make experiments in many places of many provinces including Hunan and Yunnan, provided precise solutions for polluted farmlands, and the quality and safety of planted crops reached standards, so that the cadmium polluted farmlands could be utilized safely and turned to be the products for farmers to generate income and achieve prosperity from high burdens on governments, which realized synchronous earnings of generating benefits and controlling cadmium.
It was reported that the 7th China International College Students’ ‘Internet+’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was jointly organized by 12 central ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province, Nanchang University and the People's Government of Nanchang City. The competition has become an important carrier and platform for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and a global event for college students to make their dreams of innovation and entrepreneurship come true.
