The Lecture on Medical English Course and the Appointment Ceremony of Professor Zhang Dantu of Shulan International Medical College was Held Successfully

On the morning of April 15, Shulan International Medical College invited Professor Zhang Dantu from the Queen Mary Hospital of Hong Kong to give a lecture entitled Common Diseases of the Liver, Gallbladder and Pancreas as a Medical English Course to the students of the clinical medicine major enrolled in the year 2020 in Room B1-209. Professor Chen Zhi, Executive Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of our university, the leadership team of the Medical College, and some young teachers and the students of the Medical College attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Chen Weizhe, Executive Dean of the Medical College.

Before the lecture, Dean Chen extended a warm welcome to Professor Zhang Dantu, and a simple but grand ceremony was held for his appointment. Professor Chen Zhi presented the appointment certificate to Professor Zhang Dantu and appointed him as a Distinguished Professor of Shulan International Medical College.

Professor Zhang is the President of the Hong Kong Society of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Associate Dean of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong, one of the Top 1% Global Scholars 2021 of the University of Hong Kong, and the Head of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at the Department of Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital of the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Zhang is also one of the leading experts in laparoscopic hepatectomies in Hong Kong and has already performed over 300 laparoscopic hepatectomies in Hong Kong. Professor Zhang is an active researcher in the fields of liver transplantation, complex liver surgeries, ALPPS surgeries, minimally invasive liver cancer surgeries and the role of dual tracer PET-CT in the diagnosis of HCC. He is also a world-leading expert in the field of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for HCC, and has performed the world's first HIFU treatment for patients awaiting liver transplantation.
