Celebrating the 100th year anniversary of the founding of the CPC - strengthening the firm belief of “Learning the CPC’s history, appreciate the CPC’s grace and follow the CPC”, as well as to glorify the glorious achievements made by the CPC over the past century - ZJSRU opened it’s commemorative art exhibition.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held in the Art Museum of Gongchenqiao Campus. President Li Lu, Party Secretary Zhang Qing, Vice President Chen Xinmin, Secretary of the School Discipline Inspection Commission Lu Guiqin, as well as the heads of relevant departments, teachers and students from the School of Art attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Zheng Guiyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Art.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Zhao Yan, Dean of the School of Art, delivered an opening speech on behalf of the School. Zhao Yan pointed out that the 100 Years and 100 Paintings exhibition coincided with the important 100th birthday celebration of the CPC, which was not only an opportunity for teachers and students of the School to present their thematic original works and to showcase their design ability and artistic talent, but to also present a vivid education on the history of the CPC. Zhao Yan stressed that education is the foundation of a country, aesthetic education is the foundation of education, and aesthetics is the foundation of being a proper person. Through their artwork, they expressed their love for the CPC and the country, carried forward the revolutionary tradition, and expressed their deep affection for the motherland, the people, the heroes and the times.

Professor Zhang Qing - Secretary of the Party Committee of Shuren University - pointed out in his speech that this important moment, when the whole country was celebrating 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, it was of special significance for the School of Art to hold the “100 Years and 100 Paintings” exhibition. In this session of learning CPC’s history, the School of Art gave full play to its professional advantages, guiding the majority of teachers and students to turn the magnificent and glorious hundred years of CPC’s history and the entrepreneurial spirit of ZJSRU into brushstrokes, and created fine artwork that inspired teachers and students alike to love China, CPC and ZJSRU. This played a positive role in the propagation of campus aesthetic culture, enriching the content of ZJSRU’s CPC history education. Zhang Qing stressed that the exhibition was an effective exploration of the curriculum of the School of Arts and an effective way to explore the elements of “red culture” through "Civics & Art", embedding the elements of Civics into professional practice courses through the medium of beauty, establishing moral education through art, reflecting the importance of art education in the work of educating people. He expressed his earnest hope for the development of art education: he hoped that teachers and students would take this exhibition as an opportunity to further study and implement Xi Jinping's thought of Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era; strengthen the study of CPC’s history; through these works of calligraphy, painting and photography - feel the changes of the nation’s movement and be the vanguards of the times; deeply appreciate the spirit of patriotism, cultivate family sentiment, uphold the spirit of ZJSRU, pass on the “red cultural” gene with heart and emotion, and take practical action to improve quality and upgrade ZJSRU; contribute to construct both a strong socialist culture and a modern socialist country.

Professor Li Lu, President of ZJSRU, announced the opening of the exhibition and ultimately brought the opening ceremony to a climax.

After a simple but grand opening ceremony, spectators were able to view the artwork and appreciate their artistic charm and power. The artwork on display - through various forms of artistic expression - took inspiration from important historical figures, events and achievements during the CPC’s 100 years of struggle; recorded the historical greatness of the CPC from different perspectives; displaying the century-long struggle; vividly presenting the great development of the Chinese people from being independent to becoming rich and strong under the CPC’s leadership and artistically glorifying the CPC’s great achievements.

The exhibition is not only a display of the professional teaching and artistic creative achievements of teachers and students in the School of Art - reflecting the level of artistic creation of the school - but also an innovation in developing learning activities regarding CPC’s history, utilising artwork as a link between the politics course with artistic creation. This deeply integrates CPC’s history education with professional teaching, intertwining classroom theory and artistic creation. The programme not only integrates political and ideological elements of the “Red Gene” and traditional art and culture into classroom teaching, but also connects classroom theory and artistic creation, artistically celebrating the glorious achievements of the CPC.
