Following the signing of the international cooperation agreement between our university and Anhalt University in July 2017, various international exchanges and cooperation activities are continuously carried out. On the occasion of the centennial of Bauhaus, from July 13th to August 3rd, Mr. Cheng Yin from the School of Art led 16 students majoring in environmental design, industrial design, visual communication design, architecture, international economics and trade to attend the 21-day study & learning program of "Historical Heritage Event and Public Art Planning on the Centennial of Bauhaus" at Anhalt University in Dessau, Germany.
The study & learning program was held at Anhalt University in Dessau, Germany, which is also the internationally famous "Bauhaus Design School" in the history of design. Teachers and students not only personally inspected the world's first real "Design School", but also personally participated in the "Bauhaus Teaching Performance". Anhalt University prepared rich programs for workshops and design inspections. (Figure 1)
After the study & learning group arrived in Dessau, Professor Rudolf.Lueckmann, Vice President of Anhalt University, Germany, gave a brief welcoming ceremony, and then Professor Torsten Blume, a performance artist, led everyone to study in the workshop. Teachers and students participated in the whole course.
During the study and learning, Professor Lueckman led the students to deeply study the development history of the famous German Bauhaus school building, its abandonment during World War II and its later restoration process, and led everyone to visit the interior and details of the Bauhaus building and the architectural restoration with full respect for the original building, and also visit the master apartments of Bauhaus: the residences of Gropius, Wassily Kandinsky, Klee, Van der Rohe and Hannes Meyer, their works and the teaching scenes in those years. (Figure 4)
After leaving Dessau, the study & learning group moved to Weimar to visit Bauhaus Museum, the new Weimar Museum, Goethe's former residence, etc., which had a great impact on the study of these classical cultures. (Figure 5)
In order to get teachers and students to have a deeper understanding of Germany, the study&learning group also visited Leipzig, visited the courtyard-style architectural layout and the Leipzig University campus, learned the architectural heritage transformation methods of Leipzig University, the church where the famous musician Bach stayed when he created music works and his cemetery, and the development of Leipzig city. (Figures 6 and 7)
In Dresden,a classical city at Elbe River, teachers and students visited Zwinger and Meissen Porcelain Museum. In the ancient city of G & ouml;rlitz, we have thoroughly studied German classical architecture in different periods. When visiting historic buildings in Berlin, we learned that every building contains a historical story. Berlin is characterized by the fusion and collision between the old and the new. Students felt the collision between European tradition and modern cutting-edge design. The trend of modern design is to gradually transform from the expression of onemajor to the expression of a comprehensive art form. Students of all majors can benefit from exhibitions and city inspections. Exhibitions have greatly broaden students' design horizons and perceptions. (Figures 8 and 9)
After the 21-day study and learning, the Summer Studio of Anhalt University held a graduation ceremony, and the 16 students from Shuren University received graduation certificates issued by Anhalt University of Germany.
