In early summer, with warm sunshine, we joyfully celebrate the 40th anniversary of our founding. At the end of May, the School of Economics organized a team of teachers for a special journey titled “Visiting Alumni, Chasing the Ningbo Dream, Sharing Stories,” to explore the career paths of outstanding alumni in the Ningbo area.
Set Off from the Pinnacle of Innovation—The Consistent Journey of Tao Kaibo
Tao Kaibo, a 1999 graduate in International Economics and Trade, is currently the General Manager of Yuyao Haili Electric Co., Ltd. After graduation, he was torn between staying in Hangzhou and returning to his hometown in Wenzhou. Ultimately, an opportunity led him to start his entrepreneurial journey in Yuyao, Ningbo. Embracing this chance, Tao Kaibo remained committed to innovation, propelling Yuyao Haili Electric Co., Ltd. to the forefront of the international market. He established a high-tech enterprise specializing in the design, development, manufacturing, and sales of outdoor lighting fixtures. Today, the company’s products are exported to over 60 countries and regions, including Europe and North America. The company has received several honors, including being recognized as a “National Export Industrial Product Quality and Safety Demonstration Zone Enterprise” and a “Zhejiang Province Demonstration Enterprise for the Integration of New Generation Information Technology and Manufacturing.”

Fang Qin, a 2005 graduate in Tourism Management, currently serves as the General Manager of Ningbo Wanda International Travel Agency Co., Ltd. Shortly after graduation, Fang Qin boldly chose the path of entrepreneurship, immersing herself in the vibrant and challenging tourism industry. With her intelligence, diligence, sharp market insights, and relentless effort, she carved out her own successful career in the expansive realm of tourism. Her story is a brave anthem of pursuing dreams, and her agency has been consistently honored, earning titles such as “Five-Star Quality Travel Agency in Zhejiang Province” and “Top 100 Travel Agencies in Zhejiang Province.”
Seize the Opportunities of the Times—Diligently Cultivating Zheng Xufeng
Zheng Xufeng, a 2007 graduate in Exhibition Planning and Management, currently serves as the General Manager of Rongwan New City Development and Construction Management Center in Yuyao City. As one of the first graduates in the Exhibition Management program, Zheng Xufeng returned to his hometown of Yuyao, Ningbo, with great enthusiasm. At the same time, Yuyao City was restructuring and recruiting professionals in exhibition management, providing Zheng Xufeng with a valuable opportunity. He decisively seized it and has since dedicated nearly two decades to this position, achieving significant success today. Reflecting on the cherished memories of his time at university, Zheng Xufeng is deeply grateful for the nurturing from his alma mater and the guidance from his teachers. He also extends sincere blessings to his alma mater on its 40th anniversary celebration.
