The 11thNational College Student Structural Design Contest was held in Wuhan University on the beautiful Luojia Mountain during October 18-22, 2017. The work of “City of Sky” by three students of Civil Engineering Specialty of Schoolof Urban Construction, Shi Guifeng, XuZheng and CaiNianxin, under the leading of Dean Yao Jianwith the guidance of two advisors, Zhang Zhiqing and Sheng Li, won the second prize. The team members were interviewed warmly by leaders of the university.
As a Category-A discipline contest, National College Student Structural Design Contest is one of the nine discipline contests of undergraduates confirmed by Ministry of Education in our country. Jointly sponsored by Special Direction Committee of Civil Engineering Specialty of National Higher Education and China Civil Engineering Society, the contest is a discipline contest reflecting the highest level of innovative spirits, teamwork awareness and practice ability cultivation by Civil Engineering Specialty, and is praised as “the brightest pearl on the crown of Civil Engineering”.
