From November 10 to 11, President Imran Guruyevich of Southern University of Russia paid an official exchange visit to our university at the invitation. President Li Lu warmly received President Imran Guruyevich, and both parties held talks in a friendly and harmonious atmosphere. The meeting was attended by Vice President Ye Shiping, Director Wan Guowei of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Deputy Director Zhang Tianrong (currently in charge) of the Information Technology Office, Wu Ronglan, and Dr. Yang Liping, Deputy Directors of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation. During the talks, the presidents of the two universities engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics, including deepening cooperation in language and cultural education between China and Russia, innovative exploration of educational standards for economics-related disciplines, and collaborative models for industry-specific education and training.

As a significant outcome of the meeting, President Li Lu and President Imran Guruyevich jointly signed an inter-university cooperation and exchange agreement. The signing of this agreement laid a solid foundation for future collaboration in fields such as faculty and student exchanges and joint scientific research, marking a new phase in the partnership between the two universities.


During his visit, accompanied by Vice President Ye Shiping and others, President Imran Guruyevich visited the Gongchenqiao Campus, where he observed the development of smart classrooms and gained firsthand experience of the practical achievements in integrating information technology with education. And later, accompanied by Chen Weizhe, Executive Dean, and Yin Shanshan, Vice Dean of the Shulan Medical College, Chen Chaoxiang, Party Secretary of the School of Information, and Professor Zhang Denghui, he visited the Shulan Medical College, the Institute of Medicine, Industry and Information Technology, the International Sci-Tech Cooperation Base for Remote Sensing Image Processing and Applications, and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He attentively listened to introductions on breakthrough progress in areas such as medical sciences and the localized deployment of artificial intelligence technologies, and gained detailed insights into our university’s achievements and experiences in promoting interdisciplinary and cross-border scientific research collaborations, which he highly praised.



Additionally, accompanied by Huang Qiubo, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management, President Imran Guruyevich visited the Ho Tin Library, the University History Museum, and the Belarus Research Center at the Yangxunqiao Campus. Through on-site visiting and in-depth exchanges, he expressed high appreciation for our university’s beautiful campus environment, distinctive educational features, and accomplishments in talent cultivation, scientific research, and international exchanges since its establishment.

The visit of President Imran Guruyevich of Southern University of Russia has further enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between the two universities, infusing new momentum into substantive cooperation in areas such as cultural exchanges and joint scientific research.
