On November 8, the academic symposium on “Domestic Situation and Foreign Relations of Belarus in 2025”, hosted by Zhejiang Shuren University and organized by the School of Humanities and Foreign Languages and the Belarus Research Center of the university, was successfully held at the Gongchenqiao Campus of Zhejiang Shuren University.

Vice President Ye Shiping of Zhejiang Shuren University delivered a welcoming address, extending a warm welcome to the attending experts. He briefly introduced the university’s development progress, highlighting recent achievements in international exchange and cooperation, particularly new advancements in scientific research collaboration and personnel exchanges with Belarusian partners. He noted that this year, the university not only welcomed the first batch of exchange students from Polotsk State University and successfully held the China-Belarus Academic Symposium on Artificial Intelligence, but also attended the Pujiang Innovation Forum, attracting the attention of deputy prime ministers from both China and Belarus. Additionally, innovations in AI-integrated traditional Chinese medicine received coverage from international media, reflecting significant achievements across multiple areas. Our efforts related to the Belarus Research Center, including a photo exhibition, translation of academic works, and the publication of conference proceedings, have also progressed smoothly.

The event brought together over 30 experts and scholars from across the country, including Hu Zheng, Council Member of the China Development Institute and first Chief Executive Officer of the China-Belarus Industrial Park; Zhao Huirong, Director of the Research Office of Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and the Three Baltic States at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and Han Lu, Deputy Director and Research Fellow of the Institute of Eurasian Studies at the China Institute of International Studies.

The symposium featured a substantial agenda, structured into three thematic sessions: “Domestic Situation and Foreign Relations of Belarus”, “China-Belarus Economic and Trade Cooperation”, and “China-Belarus Educational and Cultural Cooperation”. The event comprised 18 insightful academic presentations. Participating experts and scholars conducted in-depth discussions and analyses regarding the development trends across political, economic, diplomatic, educational, and cultural fields of Belarus in 2025.

This symposium proved highly productive, bringing together specialists from think tanks, universities, academies of social sciences, and corporate sectors. It facilitated profound cross-institutional and interdisciplinary exchanges, significantly enriching the dimensions of discussion. The meeting not only deepened understanding of Belarus’s core concerns and future directions but also generated valuable intellectual outcomes contributing to the advancement of the “all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership” between the two countries.
