To further integrate artificial intelligence technology into education and teaching, the finals of the First Faculty AI Teaching Skills Competition of Zhejiang Shuren University were successfully held on the afternoon of July 8 at the Gongchenqiao Campus. The competition was designed to explore new models of AI-enabled teaching and to promote innovation in education through competitions. Since its launch in March, the event has received an enthusiastic response, with 65 faculty members registering to participate. After a semester of practical teaching, the participating teachers submitted a series of distinctive and innovative teaching cases, showcasing diverse approaches to integrating AI into classroom practice. Following the preliminary review by experts, 15 teachers’ outstanding entries were shortlisted for the finals. Five experts from both inside and outside the university were invited to serve as judges for the final round, which also attracted a large number of faculty members to observe and learn, creating a vibrant atmosphere for academic exchange.
During the on-site presentation session, the finalists took the stage one after another, each delivering a ten-minute presentation that highlighted their teaching design, implementation process, teaching effectiveness, and reflections, showcasing an impressive array of innovative teaching practices. The cases covered a wide range of disciplines, including science and engineering, humanities and history, economics and management, arts, and ideological and political education, fully demonstrating the diverse applications and vast potential of AI technology in different courses. From various perspectives, these cases highlighted AI’s role as a powerful teaching assistant—whether in overcoming disciplinary challenges or supporting personalized student development, AI has shown tremendous value.
