At the invitation of the Asian Regional Association of Home Economics (ARAHE), from August 6 to 11, 2025, Lu Guiqin, Secretary of the University Discipline Inspection Commission and Chair of the University Women’s Federation, together with Professor Zhu Hongying, Dean of the Modern Service Industry Research Institute and Council Member of ARAHE, led a delegation to the Philippines to attend the 22nd Biennial International Conference of ARAHE. A total of seven faculty members from our university took part in this prestigious event, contributing to national reports, academic papers, and executive committee work, showcasing the university’s active engagement on the international stage.

The Biennial International Conference of ARAHE is held every two years, organized by ARAHE and hosted by participating countries from Asia and beyond. The theme of this year’s conference was "Empowering the Future Generation: Home Economics in the Age of Advanced Technology." Over 300 home economics experts, scholars, and representatives from relevant institutions across eight countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, participated in the event.

As a premier regional platform, the ARAHE Conference showcased the latest research achievements from the past two years. By engaging in in-depth exchanges with international peers on research methodologies, our faculty broadened their academic horizons and strengthened cross-cultural competencies, laying a solid foundation for cultivating globally oriented talent in the discipline. Meanwhile, the papers presented by our delegation attracted wide attention from international scholars, bringing innovative perspectives and practical experiences from China’s home economics field to the Asian academic community, and significantly enhancing our academic voice. This participation not only reinforced our university’s leading position in the field of home economics, but also contributed Chinese wisdom to advancing sustainable development across Asia, achieving a dual value of both “academic discourse” and “practical implementation.”
