The 7th “Youth Cup” China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling, the 17th “CSEE Cup” China Undergraduate’ Mathematical Contest in Modeling, and the 15th APMCM Asia-Pacific Mathematical Contests in Modeling were held in late May, late May, and mid-July of 2025, respectively. After four rounds of rigorous competition, including expert preliminary review, online review, panel evaluation, and re-evaluation, our university won 3 First Prizes, 3 Second Prizes, and 3 Third Prizes. In particular, the teams guided by Professors Feng Shujuan and Wang Jinming, and Dr. Chen Jie won First Prize, achieving the best performance in our university’s history.

Since the beginning of this year, the School of Jia Yang has continued to advance reforms in the organization and training mechanisms for mathematical contests in modeling. On the one hand, the school has established a university-level Mathematical Modeling Base, with newly recruited PhD faculty as its core and integrating outstanding teaching resources, dedicated to providing specialized guidance for such contests; on the other hand, it has further strengthened collaboration with various specialized schools/colleges across the university. Using this base as a platform, it has successfully attracted and supported faculty and students from different colleges/schools to actively participate in mathematical contests in modeling. By adopting the approach of “promoting learning through competition and replacing training with competition,” the school has reserved teams and built a talent pool as well as a selection pipeline for the China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling.
