On July 18, 2024, Professor Adrian Covaci, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Environment International and Director of the Toxicology Center at the University of Antwerp in , visited our university at the invitation of Professor Liu Weiping, Dean of the Interdisciplinary Research Academy. He engaged with young faculty and students to explore the cutting-edge topics and challenges in the field of environmental science.

Professor Covaci delivered an insightful presentation entitled Human Exposure to New Pollutants: Research Frontiers and Challenges to the attendees.

This visit not only strengthened Zhejiang Shuren University’s ties with the international academic community but also provided faculty and students with a platform to gain insight into the latest developments in environmental science, inspiring their passion and sense of responsibility toward environmental protection.

Dean Liu Weiping and Professor Covaci, along with others, held a small-scale discussion, during which they agreed on advancing international collaboration between the two institutes at the departmental level. They also outlined initial plans and tasks to establish a joint research center to further promote international cooperation.
