On July 12, the 8^th Council Meeting of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries was grandly held in Hangzhou. Our university was invited to serve as a council member of the 8th Council, and President Li Lu attended the meeting as the representative of the council member. Approximately 150 representatives from provincial departments, group organizations at all levels, social groups, enterprises, institutions, municipal and county-level friendship associations, and overseas Chinese organizations participated in the meeting. Among them, there were the representatives of council members from 20 universities, including Zhejiang University and the China Academy of Art.

Qiu Qiwen, Member and Secretary General of the Standing Committee of CPC Provincial Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Jiang Jiang, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, extended congratulations. Xie Zhiyuan, Executive Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, provided explanations on personnel matters. Gu Jianxin, Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Executive Vice President of the 7^th Council of the Provincial Association for Friendship, presented the work report on behalf of the 7^th Council. At the meeting, the attendees reviewed and approved the newly revised “Charter” and elected the new council president, vice presidents, and executive council members.
