On the morning of January 19th, Gu Jianxin (Deputy Director-General of the Department of Foreign Affairs of The People's Government of Zhejiang Province) and four other guests - including leaders from The Division of European Affairs and The Division of Asian and African Affairs - visited to carry out special research on international cooperative education within our university. Our President Li Lu, Vice-President Chen Jun, specially-appointed consultant Chen Zhi, along with the heads of: The School of Humanities and Foreign Languages, The School of Information Science and Technology, and The School of Biology and Environmental Engineering, Shulan International Medical College, and the Office of International Affairs attended the meeting.

At the meeting, President Li Lu expressed his sincere welcome to Gu Jianxin and his team for their research and guidance, giving his heartfelt gratitude for their long-term special attention and care to the university’s international communication. President Li mentioned that Shuren University started very early in terms of exchanges and cooperation with foreign countries, and also received help and support from patriots such as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan at the beginning of its establishment. Today higher education in China has become popular, and people's demand for education has changed. To meet demands for high-quality educational resources, Shuren University needs to improve its internal development and evolve into to a high-quality university. Li Lu said that, “in order to pursue the internationalization of education, the university must focus on the national and provincial development strategies, promote Sino-foreign cooperation in education, scientific and technological innovation cooperation and establishing The Belarusian think-tank and constructing subjects in key fields such as: medical, engineering and information, environmental health, and the modern service industry to improve the university’s standard of international education.”

After hearing the report delievered by Chen Jun, the Vice President, Gu Jianxin fully affirmed the achievements of Shuren University, and reviewed the special relationship between the Department of Foreign Affairs and Shuren University. Mr. Wang Jiayang, the Founder of Shuren University, used to  be the former President of Zhejiang Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Chairman of the Provincial Association for International Cultural Exchange. Gu Jianxin said “a lot of the foreign exchange work of the Department of Foreign Affairs has been actively supported by the university”. Therefore, at the beginning of 2021, he chose Shuren University as the first stop for researching the field of international education. He said that through this research, he learned Shuren University’s internationalization practices and experiences. In addition, he hoped to expand the relationship between both parties and ensure the Department of Foreign Affairs’ resources will be more effectively applied to subject-construction, the development of majors, talent training and social services within the university.
