On July 25, Dr. Yung Wing‑Ki, Vice Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and Founding President of the Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association, paid an exchange visit to the Yangxunqiao Campus of our university together with his wife. President Li Lu accompanied the delegation throughout the visit, joined by relevant heads of the President’s Office and the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.

The delegation first toured the University History Museum, where Dr. Yung learned in depth about the university’s development, which was founded by the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, its long-standing exchanges with Hong Kong and Macao, and its achievements in application-oriented education. He spoke highly of the university’s educational positioning of rooting itself in local regions and cultivating application-oriented talents.

The delegation then visited the Li Bicong International Tea Culture Laboratory, where leaders of the laboratory introduced the university’s achievements in the development of tea culture programs. Students also demonstrated the art of Diancha, a traditional tea-whisking technique from the Song Dynasty. During discussions with faculty members and students, Dr. Yung exchanged views on promoting tea culture between Zhejiang and Hong Kong and on the educational value of tea culture. He commended the university’s distinctive approach to tea culture education and expressed his willingness to facilitate future collaboration by introducing tea experts from Hong Kong to the university.

At the Ho Tin Library, Associate Librarian Tang Jiangming introduced the library’s rare ancient collections, including the Wenjin Pavilion Edition of the Complete Library of the Four Branches of Literature (Siku Quanshu), as well as the library’s efforts in preserving, promoting and making greater use of its literature resources and its supporting facilities for reading services. Dr. Yung praised the university’s rich collections and its scholarly atmosphere.

Following the campus tour, President Li Lu held a meeting with Dr. Yung. President Li introduced the university’s exchanges with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as the development of its distinctive academic disciplines, expressing the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism and further expand channels for mutual visits and cultural cooperation between teachers and students of Zhejiang and Hong Kong. Dr. Yung highly commended the university’s achievements in private higher education and its efforts to promote youth exchanges between Zhejiang and Hong Kong. He pointed out that the educational resources of Zhejiang and Hong Kong were complementary, presenting tremendous potential for cooperation. He stated that he would subsequently promote the collaboration and resource integration between Hong Kong institutions and industries and the university, facilitating the implementation of projects such as study tours, mutual visits, and collaborative cultural development, thereby fostering the exchanges and growth of young people from both regions.

This visit has further strengthened the foundation for exchange and cooperation between Zhejiang and Hong Kong, reinforced the educational and cultural ties between the two regions, and created new opportunities for the university to continue expanding exchange programs with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, while advancing cross-regional collaborative education for young people.
