According to the latest Essential Science Indicators (ESI) data released by Clarivate on July 9th, 2026, Zhejiang Shuren University’s Environment/Ecology has been ranked among the top 1% of ESI disciplines worldwide. Following Clinical Medicine and Engineering, it is the University’s third discipline to achieve this distinction, marking another significant milestone in the University’s discipline development.

As an internationally recognized analytical tool for evaluating the global competitiveness of academic disciplines and tracking trends in scientific research, ESI identifies the world’s top 1% disciplines as benchmarks of international academic excellence. The successful inclusion of the University’s Environment/Ecology discipline in the ESI top 1% ranking marks its entry into the ranks of globally high-level disciplines, reflecting its achievements in discipline development, research and innovation, and international academic influence.
Over the years, Zhejiang Shuren University has remained committed to high-quality talent cultivation and pursued a distinctive approach to discipline development as an application-oriented university. The University has identified Environment/Ecology as one of its key disciplines, continuously increasing investment, optimizing disciplinary planning, strengthening its research and innovation system, and steadily enhancing the discipline’s overall competitiveness. In recent years, the discipline has been committed to addressing the major strategic needs of the Beautiful China Initiative and Zhejiang Province’s “315” Science and Technology Innovation System, strengthening the development of key and enabling technologies and developing distinctive strengths in areas including emerging pollutant control and green resource utilization, environmental big data monitoring and artificial intelligence, and ecological restoration and environmental health risks.
