On June 23, Zhejiang Shuren University held its 2026 Commencement and Degree Conferment Ceremony simultaneously at the gymnasiums on its Gongchenqiao and Yangxunqiao campuses. Themed “Sails Surge--Glory Awaits”, the ceremony brought together the university leaders, heads of administrative departments, schools and residential colleges, faculty and staff representatives, all graduates of the Class of 2026, and parent representatives to witness this important moment. The ceremony was also livestreamed through multiple online channels, allowing family members and friends who could not attend in person to share in the joy of graduation.

The “Shuren Lucky Koi” interactive lucky draw brought the atmosphere to a climax. Through live footage displayed on large screens, 10 lucky graduates were selected from each campus and presented with customized “Shuren Lucky Koi” bachelor’s gowns. Wang Hongzhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of our university, and President Li Lu turned the tassels for the “Lucky Koi” students one by one and presented them with graduation certificates and degree certificates.

In his address, President Li Lu offered three key words to the graduates: “vision, boundary-crossing mindset, and aspiration”. He recalled the meaningful moments they had shared with the university, including its anniversary celebration and its progress in applying for authorization to confer master’s degrees. He encouraged the graduates to continue growing together with their alma mater, to maintain a broad vision, be willing to learn new knowledge, make good use of AI and recognize that a world of innovation is already within reach. He also urged them to cross disciplinary boundaries with courage, break down barriers, keep growing through iteration and innovation, and surpass themselves. Above all, he called on them to uphold lofty aspirations, remain true to their original ideals, shoulder their responsibilities, look far with a broad mind and achieve success through dedicated action.

During the session of “Shuren, Thank You”, teachers and students from different schools took turns giving performances, expressing their gratitude and reluctance to say goodbye. At the end of the ceremony, graduates holding sunflowers presented flowers in turn to university leaders, faculty and staff members, and parents in attendance, expressing their gratitude for the guidance and support they had received throughout the years.

With tassels turned and caps set straight, the graduates marked the completion of their studies. Now ready to embark on new journeys, they set out toward a wider world. Wish all graduates a smooth path forward and a brilliant and fulfilling life ahead.
