On June 5, our university and the Belarusian State Economic University (BSEU) held an online cooperative exchange meeting. The meeting was attended by Alexander Shevchenko, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Shanghai, and Consul Maria Padamatskaya; Ye Shiping, Vice President of our university; Yan Hong, Dean of the School of Economics and Management; Wu Ronglan, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs; Zhu Yaping, Deputy Director of the Office of Human Resources; and relevant representatives from BSEU. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on key areas of cooperation, including faculty and student exchanges, joint talent cultivation, and cooperative education programs.

In his speech, Consul General Shevchenko noted that his visit to our university in May left a profound impression on him. He expressed his hope that both parties would explore suitable cooperation fields and continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation in Chinese-Belarusian higher education. Elena Kolyada, a representative from BSEU, introduced the university’s background. Founded in 1933, BSEU is a top-tier public economic university in Belarus, offering comprehensive educational programs ranging from preparatory courses to doctoral degrees. With approximately 15,000 enrolled students, the university possesses extensive experience in international cooperative education, short-term study tours, and faculty training programs.
Vice President Ye Shiping expressed his gratitude to the Consulate General for its continuous support of the inter-university collaboration. He highlighted that our university established partnerships with over ten Belarusian universities and research institutes and successfully built four provincial- and ministerial-level or higher-level Chinese-Belarusian research platforms. Dean Yan Hong proposed specific cooperative initiatives, extending a warm welcome to Belarusian students to visit Hangzhou and conduct research on the development of the market economy in China. He suggested prioritizing joint master’s degree programs in fields such as international logistics and management, while simultaneously advancing semester-long exchange programs in international economic relations and accounting. Deputy Director Wu Ronglan engaged in detailed discussions with the Belarusian delegation regarding summer camps, semester exchange students, and joint undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

Through highly efficient communication, both parties reached a consensus on three major cooperation fields: short-term study programs, semester exchange programs, and joint undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. Moving forward, both parties will refine the implementation plans and accelerate the implementation of these projects, thereby promoting in-depth and substantive cooperation between Chinese and Belarusian universities.
