From February 23 to 27, a delegation from our university, comprising Yan Hong, Dean of the School of Economics and Management; Fan Huayan, Deputy Director of the Student Development and Services Office; and Liu Jiani, Foreign Affairs Administrator from the Office of International Affairs, visited Hong Kong to participate in the 2026 Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE). Following the conference, the delegation also paid visits to the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Lingnan University, building bridges for international educational cooperation through diverse forms of exchange and injecting new momentum into the university’s internationalization endeavors.

Centered around the conference theme, “Collaborating in Asia-Pacific, Creating a New Horizon for Global Education”, our university’s delegation comprehensively showcased its achievements in cultivating globally competent talents and in Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, while also presenting information on student recruitment from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The distinctive application-oriented education approach attracted global education peers to come and exchange ideas. The delegation conducted in-depth exchanges and consultations with higher education institutions and organizations from over 20 countries and regions, focusing on core topics such as joint training programs, credit transfer, mutual visits by teachers, research collaboration, and student exchange. A preliminary consensus was reached regarding the application for cooperative education institutions. The delegation also discussed “4+0” and “3+1” joint training models with institutions from Southeast Asia, Europe, and other regions, and exchanged views about the cooperation on curriculum development and short-term exchange programs with the universities from Hong Kong, thereby creating new platforms for our students’ overseas studies, internships, and employment.

Following the conference, the delegation paid special visits to the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Lingnan University, engaging in in-depth discussions on academic seminars, short-term student exchange programs, talent cultivation and introduction, and liberal arts education, further deepening cooperation with Hong Kong universities.

As one of the world’s three major international education conferences, this year’s APAIE Annual Conference brought together over 3,000 representatives from higher education institutions and organizations across more than 70 countries and regions. Our university’s participation in this exhibition represents a proactive step in integrating into the global higher education landscape, effectively enhancing the university's visibility and influence in the field of international education, and strengthening its international education cooperation network spanning Asia, Europe, Australia, and other regions.
