On the afternoon of November 22, Zhejiang Province held a video meeting with Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan to celebrate the 40th anniversary for the establishment of their friendly relationship. Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Province Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, and Heita Kawakatsu, Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan delivered speeches respectively. Wang Hao, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Province Committee and Governor of Zhejiang Province and Heita Kawakami signed the Joint Declaration on Deepening Friendly Exchange and Cooperation between Zhejiang Province of the People's Republic of China and Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan in the New Era. The universities attending the celebration included Zhejiang University, China Academy of Art, Zhejiang Shuren University, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, and Zhejiang Vocational Academy of Art. President Li Lu attended the celebration on behalf of our university. At the event, guests watched a film on the 40th anniversary for the establishment of the friendly relationship between Zhejiang Province and Shizuoka Prefecture, as well as a photo exhibition on the 40th anniversary, where many photos of our university's exchange with Shizuoka were exhibited.

Since 1988, our university started friendly exchanges with Shizuoka Prefecture, and has carried out a series of substantive cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and sports. In May 1988, Takuzo Suwa, Chairman of Japan-China Friendship Council of Shizuoka Prefecture and President of Tokoha Gakuen University, visited Zhejiang Province and our university. In April 1991, the Japan-China Friendship Council of Shizuoka presented to our university a Mitsubishi minibus and 10 sets of IBM computers and auxiliary equipment to set up the "Zhejiang-Shizuoka Friendship Electrified Classroom". These 10 sets of computer equipment have become important teaching aids for the computer courses of the departments of international trade and business administration of our university. In October 1992, our university signed a friendly agreement with Tokoha Gakuen University, which started the cooperation and exchange between our university and other Japanese universities.

On October 26, 2007, our University, Hamamatsu University, and the Network Alliance of Shizuoka University jointly held the China-Japan Academic Conference on Tea Culture and Tea Economy

On October 27, 2007, our University, Zhejiang Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Shizuoka Kendo Alliance co-hosted the "Zhejiang - Shizuoka Friendly Exchange on Kendo".

On August 27, 2019, "The 4th Zhejiang-Shizuoka Table Tennis Competition for Friendship Exchange" was held in the indoor stadium of Gongchenqiao Campus of our university

In recent years, our university and Shizuoka Prefecture have actively carried out cooperation and academic exchanges in the field of medical and health care, hosted the "2021 China-Japan Exchange Activity on Training Medical and Health Care Talents" and "International Forum on Smart Health and Care 2022" successively, and attended the "2022 China-Japan Cooperation Forum on Elderly Care Service", "Zhejiang‧Shizuoka Online Seminar for Elderly Care" and other activities on invitation. Under the support of Japan-China Friendship Association of Shizuoka Prefecture and the Bureau of Shizuoka Fukui Affairs of Zhejiang Province, our university has established "Zhejiang-Asian Countries Alliance for Training Talents of Medical and Elderly Care", and is making efforts to create a win-win cooperation and common development of the training of medical and health care talents in Asian countries.
