On the morning of September 3, President Li Lu led a team to visit Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (hereinafter referred to as UIC). Academician Tang Tao, President of UIC warmly received President Li and other visitors from our university, including the leaders from the Office of Scientific Research, International Exchange Office (the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), Interdisciplinary Research Academy, and Shulan International Medical College. Chen Zhi, Executive Vice President of UIC, Zhang Shaofeng, President Assistant of UIC, and some leaders of the university’s administration office, the Department of Life Sciences and the School of Culture and Creativity attended the meeting.
At the meeting on cooperation and exchange between these two universities, Tang Tao introduced the talent training, programs, scientific research, and development planning of UIC. In particular, he stressed that UIC would expand postgraduate education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and undertake the target task of supporting the talent development in the Greater Bay Area.
After listening to Tang Tao's introduction, Li Lu firstly praised the rapid development and high-level international education of UIC, and then introduced our university's development history, setting of disciplines and majors, talent training, social services, as well as the collaborative development in interdisciplinary science research and new medical sciences and other fields. Dean Liu Weiping mainly introduced the rapid development and key researches of the Interdisciplinary Research Academy in the past two years. Both parties had in-depth discussions on scientific research cooperation, joint training of postgraduates, student exchanges, and training of management cadres, and reached a consensus on cooperation.
Accompanied by Tang Tao and Chen Zhi, the visiting group visited the College, and was deeply impressed by the advanced teaching facilities, international faculty team and diversified talent training concept of UIC.
