To mark the twentieth anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong to China, the 6th International Conference on Travel Writings in Chinese was held in Hong Kong and Macao from November 28 to 30, 2017, jointly sponsored by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, HK's Mingpao Monthly and the Macao Foundation.

Professor Lin Jiali, Dean of the School of Humanities & Foreign Languages of Zhejiang Shuren University and Vice Chairman of the International Association of Travel Literature in Chinese, was invited to attend the meeting.

With the theme of "Travel on Silk Road", the seminar invited nearly one hundred famous Chinese scholars from home and abroad.

Professor Lin Jiali preached his paper "A Pearl on the Silk Road: The Dunhuang Lyrics: Content and Art of Dunhuang Lyrics" and was invited to preside over paper discussion in a parallel session.
