On October 30, 2018, Sergey Ablameyko, a visiting Belarusian professor at Zhejiang Shuren University, was awarded the 2018 Zhejiang Provincial Government's West Lake Friendship Award.

Sergey Ablameyko is an information technology expert in image processing and pattern recognition. He was selected as Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Academician of the Academia Europaea, Academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and Academician of Spanish Royal Academy of Finance and Economics. He was Principal of Belarusian State University and has been a visiting professor at Zhejiang Shuren University since 2017.

He led the establishment of the "China-Russia-Belarus Joint Research Center on Plasma Science", committed to accelerating geospatial data exchange and sharing management in Zhejiang Province, participated in the research of the "Belarus Research Center", a national and regional research project documented by the Ministry of Education, promoted the academic dialog between Chinese and Belarusian youth and launched two China-Belarus youth forums, which have made great contributions to China-Belarus exchanges.
