On May 12, Professor Paddy Gray, Emeritus Honorary Professor of the University of Ulster and former Chair of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), together with Professor Liu Chengwei, Member of the China Mainland Affairs Committee of the Asia-Pacific Branch of the Chartered Institute of Housing, visited our university for academic exchange and cooperation discussions.
Vice President Yu Haibiao warmly received Professor Paddy Gray and his delegation. During the meeting, Vice President Yu introduced our university’s development history and held discussions with the guests on promoting international cooperation between our university and internationally recognized professional institutions such as CIH, as well as strengthening collaboration with universities in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. Subsequently, the two sides conducted a special discussion on preparations for the five-year cyclical review and evaluation after CIH international accreditation. The meeting was chaired by Zhou Chaocheng, Dean of the School of Public Affairs.
At the same time, Professor Paddy Gray and Professor Liu Chengwei delivered academic lectures at the lecture hall of the Yangxunqiao Campus on topics including “The Importance and Future Development of Estate Management Education”. In addition, the School of Public Affairs held an online meeting with Leeds Beckett University to discuss matters related to China-foreign cooperative education programs and other areas of collaboration. During the visit, Professor Paddy Gray and his delegation also toured the Ho Tin Library, Chenyang Residential College, the Smart Property Industry Institute, and the Smart Property Engineering Laboratory and Training Center.
The visit of Professor Paddy Gray and his delegation further advanced the international development of our university’s Estate Management discipline and promoted practical cooperation between Chinese and British universities in disciplinary development and talent cultivation.
