On the afternoon of February 20, Xu Lvzhong, President of Zhejiang Society for Environmental Sciences, led a team to visit our university for research. Vice President Chen Jun, and some faculty members from the Office of the Party Committee, the Office of University Affairs, Interdisciplinary Research Academy, and the Office of Scientific Research and Social Cooperation participated in the research.

Xu Lvzhong and other visitors visited the Modern Analysis and Testing Center, the Teaching Center of Medical Lab Test, and the GLP Laboratory for the Safety Evaluation of New Chemical Substances in the Interdisciplinary Research Academy. Liu Weiping, Dean of the Interdisciplinary Research Academy, introduced the work of the Interdisciplinary Research Academy under the new situation.

At the meeting, Chen Jun expressed his gratitude to Zhejiang Society for Environmental Sciences for its continuous support and assistance to the university, and extended a warm welcome to Xu Lvzhong and other visitors. He briefly introduced the development of the university and gave a detailed explanation of the construction of environmental disciplines.

Xu Lvzhong recognized the development of our university and the construction of environmental discipline. He stressed that we should adhere to the correct direction of running a university, persist in educating talents for the Party and the country, make the work in compliance with the decisions and deployment in the work plan of the province, further improve the level of seeing and doing things, expand external services, and actively integrate into the overall economic and social development of Hangzhou.

At the same time, he pointed out that we should give play to the characteristics of the scientific research of the university, focus on the construction of one academy with two centers, thoroughly implement relevant discipline specification documents, take specific measures to strengthen the foundation of the testing platforms, continuously improve and optimize the platform system, standardize standard methods, and realize the cooperation in various ways and approaches.

At the meeting, the attendees had a lively exchange on taking solid steps to develop environmental disciplines in the next stage.

Under the guidance and assistance of Zhejiang Society for Environmental Sciences, the Interdisciplinary Research Academy will continue to deepen its scientific research work, better demonstrate the advantage of the analytical and testing platform of the university, accelerate the implementation of the measures for the GLP laboratory, build the third-party testing platform well, and comprehensively promote our university to make new achievements in environmental science research.
