Teaching and Research Office of College English

The Teaching and Research Office of College English has 29 full-time teachers, including 4 associate professors, 25 lecturers and 2 doctors. In addition toCollege English, the office also offers courses such as English forInternational Talents (elementary),English for International Talents (middle),English Communication at WorkandComparison of Chinese and English Cultures.

According to the requirements inCollege English Guideissued by Ministry of Education, the Teaching and Research Office conducts in-depth reforms according to practical conditions, to improve teaching quality and course resource construction, to cultivate a powerful teaching team. The office has been awarded as the first batch of university-level excellent course of 2008, the provincial excellent course of 2010, foreign intelligent teaching and learning cloud platform funded by central finance in 2020. The office was awarded as the first batch of university-level teaching team of 2007, the first batch of university-level excellent Teaching and Research Office of 2014. The office has hosted one humanity and social science project of Ministry of Department, and has participated in more than 60 projects of city department or above levels; the office has led in editing (including editing) 6 teaching materials, and has published 2 academic works in national-level publishing houses. The office has issued more than 100 thesis in domestic and overseas periodicals such as Modern Foreign Languages, Journal of Chinese Language Teaching and Journal of PLA Institute of Foreign Languages, and has acquired more than 20 teaching achievement prizes of university or above level. The office has guided students to acquire the third prize of the final of “FLTRP Cup” National English Reading Contest, and the third prizes and the second prizes of provincial contest in reading and writing of the contest repeatedly; the office guided students to acquire the first prize of “FLTRP Guocai Cup” the 15thprovincial-level English Writing Contest and the third prize in English Speech Contest in 2020.

Teaching and Research Office of Basis of Computer Engineering

The Teaching and Research Office of Computer is engaged in teaching and research of public courses of computer non-computer specialty of the university. At present, the Teaching and Research Office has 9 full-time teachers, including 1 professor, 3 associate professors and 5 lecturers. Two of the teachers have doctoral degree and five of them have master’s degree.

The office mainly offers required courses such asPython Program Designand Modern Office Technology and elective courses such asPhotoshop Image Processing, Python Program Design Second-level Guide andAOA Second-level Reinforcement. In recent years, the Teaching and Research Office has undertaken one national-level scientific research project and five provincial-level and ministerial-level scientific research projects, and has issued more than 40 academic thesis in domestic and foreign academic journals, and has guided students to won three first prizes in provincial contests and many other prizes in various types of contests.

The Teaching and Research Office conducts in-depth exploration to the system and mode of computer teaching for non-computer specialty students. At the same time of improving the theoretical teaching system, it strengthens teaching in the practice link, to further strengthen comprehensive understanding of students on basic knowledge of computer. A complete set of teaching system has been formed after efforts of many years, to achieve favorable effects on aspects of cultivating thinking ability, problem analyzing ability, self-learning ability and favorable learning methods.

Teaching and Research Office of Mathematics

The Teaching and Research Office of Mathematics is mainly in charge of teaching of public mathematics courses of the whole university, as well as works related to mathematics course tuition for graduate college exams and contests. It offers courses such as Higher Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics for Graduate College Exams and Higher Mathematics Contest. The teachers of the team are rigorous in teaching, with high sense of responsibility, solid professional theoretical foundation and specialized skills, as well as favorable teaching effects, and are highly praised by students.

The Teaching and Research Office of Mathematics has 16 full-time teachers, and 30% of them are doctors, and 45% of them have senior professional posts. The Teaching and Research Department has strengthened talent introduction in recent years with the leading of the school, forming a responsible teachers’ team full of vigor and vitality.

In order to adapt to the demands of the construction of the applied university, the Teaching and Research Department explores positively, and has made some breakthroughs in teaching research and scientific research. Three educational reform projects of provincial and ministerial level have been approved, and many academic thesis have been searched and collected by SCI and EI during the latest three years. In addition, the Teaching and Research Department has made abundant achievements in discipline contest cultivation. It has won one second prize in National Mathematical Contest in Modeling for College Students and five third prizes, and has won more than 70 prizes in National Mathematical Contest for College Students and Provincial Contest of Higher Mathematics, including six first prizes.

Teaching and Research Office of Physics

The Teaching and Research Office of Physics has 6 permanent teachers, including 2 professors, 3 lecturers and 1 experimentalist. Two of them have doctor’s degree. One of the Teaching and Research Office has been awarded with the honorary title of the 5thAdvanced Individual in Teacher’s Ethics in recent years; 2 of them have been awarded with the title of University-level Excellent Young Backbone Teachers; 1 of them has been awarded with the title of University-level Excellent Young Lecturer; 1 of them has been awarded with the title of University-level Excellent Teacher and Famous Teacher.

The Teaching and Research Office of Physics is responsible for teaching ofCollege Physics, Medical Physics andCollege Physics Experimentfor related specialties of the university. The laboratories are situated on Floor 4 and 5 of No. 2 Building, Qiushi Park, Yangxunqiao Campus, with the area of nearly 900m2, including 10 laboratories such as dynamics, optics, electromagnetism and modern physics. The laboratories have perfect facilities, profound faculty and standard management. Each laboratory can accommodate 20 groups of students for grouping experiments, and is equipped with a set of computer simulation experiment software.

The Teaching and Research Office of Physics has always been engaged in teaching, scientific research and education works in a earnest, careful and diligent way, acquiring abundant scientific research achievements and good performance in student contests. The office has hosted and completed many university-level projects in teaching research during the latest five years, and has issued more than 20 teaching thesis. With respect to scientific research, the office has hosted one national natural science foundation and 1 provincial natural science foundation, and has completed university-level scientific research projects and horizontal projects. The office has issued a series of high-level thesis, and nearly 10 of them are collected by SCI and EI. The office has guided students to participate in Zhejiang Collge Physics (theory) Innovation Contest, with average winning rate of 20%. In 2020, the project of “Firemen Indoor Positioning and Environmental Warning System based on the Physical Kinematics Theory” was awarded with the first prize in the 11thCollege Physical Scientific Innovation Contest.
