Established in July 2020, Arts & Crafts & Sports Center is a secondtier academic unit under the university’s administrative structure. It is responsible for delivering university‐wide courses in sports education, arts education, and craft education, organizing campuswide cultural and sports activities, and coordinating participation in provincial and national competitions, exhibitions, and performances. The Center is organized into several subdivisions, including the Office, Teaching Division, Mass Activities Division, Competition Division, Sports Assessment Division, and Faculty Development Division, along with three curriculum groups: Sports Education, Arts Education, and Crafts Education. As of October 2025, the Center has 36 faculty and staff, including 30 fulltime teachers: 23 in Sports Education and 7 in Arts Education; craft Education is supported by 28 part-time instructors and 4 agricultural mentors. The academic ranks include 3 full professors, 8 associate professors, 11 lecturers, and 9 teaching assistants; faculty with senior titles constitute 34% of the teaching staff. Among the faculty, 6 hold doctoral degrees, 6 are recognized as “National Elite Athletes,” and 7 are certified as national-level referees/social sports instructors.
Over the past three years (2021–2025), the Center has achieved impressive results in sports and arts competitions. Award-winning disciplines include track and field, swimming, basketball, football, aerobics, orienteering, table tennis, and golf. In 2021, the men’s basketball team won the Zhejiang Provincial University Basketball League championship. The golf team also secured the women’s team title at the 2024 National University Golf Championship. In 2023, student Shen Qibo earned gold medals in both the men’s 50 m freestyle and 50 m butterfly at the National University Swimming Championships, setting new national collegiate records in the latter event—a historic breakthrough. In provincial-level arts contests, students have garnered 4 first prizes, 14 second prizes, and 6 third prizes. The Center’s craft education efforts have gained national recognition: the university was named a second‑cohort National Pilot School for First Aid Education by the Ministry of Education, and it was designated by the China Association for Campus Management as one of the inaugurals “Model Bases for Craft Education through Logistics Services.”
