To further enhance the quality of program development, promote the standardization and scientific advancement of academic programs, and comply with international accreditation standards, Zhejiang Shuren University has been actively advancing its internationalization agenda. Coordinated by the Center for Quality Monitoring and Evaluation, in coordination with the School of Information Science and Technology and the School of Biology and Environmental Engineering, a comprehensive work plan and detailed schedule were developed for the on-site visit by the ASIIN accreditation expert panel. From June 9 to 10, a delegation of ten experts from ASIIN conducted an on-site evaluation of three programs: Computer Science and Technology, Internet of Things Engineering, and Food Science and Engineering. Vice Presidents Chen Xinmin and Ye Shiping, along with the deputy deans of teaching from the Center for Quality Monitoring and Evaluation, the School of Information Science and Technology, and the School of Biology and Environmental Engineering, as well as heads of relevant functional departments, program leaders, faculty and student representatives, and enterprise representatives participated in the visit and related activities.

Through document review, field visit , and in-depth interviews, the expert panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the university’s program development and talent cultivation efforts. The experts carried out a systematic inspection on key process-related documents, including final examination papers and graduation projects, to rigorously assess the effectiveness of program construction. They also visited key teaching and research facilities—such as the Medicine Engineering and Information Research Institute, key laboratories, and the university library—to gain a thorough understanding of the experimental equipment, teaching conditions, and research capacity of the accredited programs; in addition, the panel held discussions with program directors, full-time faculty members, current students, and enterprise representatives, enabling a multidimensional and comprehensive assessment on the quality of program development and the effectiveness of talent cultivation at Zhejiang Shuren University.

The Center for Quality Monitoring and Evaluation will take this ASIIN accreditation as an opportunity to further advance the international accreditation efforts of relevant academic programs. Guided by accreditation standards, the Center will continue to improve the quality assurance system with a focus on continuous enhancement, thereby supporting the connotative development and internationalization of academic programs. These efforts aim to lay a solid foundation for cultivating more high-caliber applied talents with global vision, professional competence, and strong practical abilities.

ASIIN, short for the German Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, is the most authoritative accreditation agency for higher education of the natural and engineering sciences in Germany. It is also a founding member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (EUR-ACE). As engineering degrees accredited by ASIIN are widely recognized in the European Union, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and other countries, graduates of ASIIN-accredited programs are qualified to work as engineers in these countries.
