The 16th national final of the National College Student Chemical Engineering Design Competition was successfully concluded in East China University of Science and Technology. The competition, entitled "designing a 1,4-butanediol production plant for a large chemical enterprise or designing a technical transformation plan for an existing 1,4-butanediol production plant", attracted 2,939 teams from 415 universities across China to participate since its launch in March. This competition was very influential and professional, and the highest level of discipline competition among chemical and chemical engineering and related majors.

In this National Student Chemical Design Competition and Zhejiang Student Chemical Design Competition, under the support of the Academic Affairs Office and the School of Biology and Environmental Engineering of our university, through the guidance of five teachers, i.e. Zheng Kai, Yu Zuolong, Qiao Jun, Zhu Dancheng and Yu Jie, and the hard work of students, the participating teams won 1 second prize and 3 third prizes in the National Competition, and 1 first prize and 3 third prizes in the Provincial Competition (our university has won the first prizes of provincial-level contests for three consecutive years). At the same time, one team also won the valuable honor of Excellence Award of the Best Modern Design Method and Application.
