Zhou Yan, Deputy District Mayor of Keqiao Visited Our University for Research

On the afternoon of March 20th, Zhou Yan, Deputy District Mayor of Keqiao, and other guests visited our university for research. Zhang Qing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, and colleagues from the Office of the Party Committee and the Office of the President warmly received the visitors.

At the meeting, Zhang Qing, on behalf of the university, warmly welcomed Zhou Yan and other visitors, thanked the Party Committee and the Government of Keqiao District for supporting our university, and introduced the development history of our university, the basic situation of the Yangxunqiao campus and the important work of the university to make efforts to promote the application of master’s degree programs, talent training, disciplines and campus construction currently. He pointed out that this year marked the 40th anniversary of the university and the 20th anniversary of Chairman Xi’s visit to the university. Guided by the construction of disciplines, the university is committed to developing education that meets the needs of the people, striving to get the approval of the master’s degree programs, and achieving quality improvement and upgradation. He said that the university would give full play to the advantages of disciplines, scientific research and talents, further deepen the cooperation between the university and local organizations to promote mutual development, and contribute to the university’s strength in promoting the modernization of “the International Textile City and the Satellite City of Hangzhou and Shaoxing” from the “beautiful vision” into the “real scene” of Keqiao, and also hoped that the government of Keqiao District could continue to care for and support the high-quality development of the university.

Zhou Yan highly appreciated the university’s achievements in education in Keqiao District in recent years, and thanked our university for supporting talent training in Keqiao District over the years. She said that the government of Keqiao District would continue to care about and support the development of the university, and hoped that the university could fully combine the industrial characteristics of Keqiao with the social reality, continuously deepen the integration of industry, society and education, and make greater efforts to promote openness and cooperation in education, further improve the cooperation between the university and local organizations to promote mutual development, and to provide strong support for building Keqiao to be “the International Textile City and the Satellite City of Hangzhou and Shaoxing”.

At the meeting, both parties also had in-depth exchanges and discussions on discipline construction, talent training, alumni cooperation, achievement transformation, collaborative innovation, infrastructure construction and others.
