Our University was Invited to Attend the Second Japan-China Conference on the Communication between Universities Hosted by the Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai

On the afternoon of March 7th, Wang Yun, Director of the Department of International Exchange, and some other colleagues went to Shanghai to attend the Second Japan-China Conference on the Communication between Universities hosted by the Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai. There were 66 representatives from 16 well-known universities in Japan and 25 universities in China attending the conference.

Mr. Numata Mao, Consul for Education at the Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai, delivered a keynote speech on “Japan’s Policies on International Exchange of Higher Education". He said that the Consulate General would like to actively build an exchange platform for Japanese and Chinese universities, enhance mutual understanding between the universities in Japan and China, provide new ideas, create new opportunities, and develop new ways for cooperation between both parties.

The representatives from different universities had free discussions by focusing on the theme and jointly discussed the trend and countermeasures of the internationalization of higher education in China and Japan.

During the conference, the representatives of our university exchanged views with the representatives from Gifu University, Sophia University, Chiba University, Osaka Metropolitan University, and J. F. Oberlin University, and reached the intention of inter-university cooperation with many universities.
