The Seminar on High-quality Development of Private Universities in the Yangtze River Delta was Successfully Held

On January 12-13, the “Seminar on High-Quality Development of Private Colleges and Universities in Yangtze River Delta”, which was jointly organized by China Institute of Private Higher Education of Zhejiang Shuren University, the Yangtze River Delta Institute of Private Higher Education, and the Higher Education Branch of Zhejiang Non-Governmental Education Association, was successfully held in Hangzhou Zhijiang Hotel.

Nearly 50 leaders, experts, and scholars from more than 20 private colleges and universities attended the meeting.

Prof. Li Lu, President of our university and Chairman of the Higher Education Branch of Zhejiang Non-Governmental Education Association, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, in which he, on behalf of our university and the Higher Education Branch of Zhejiang Non-Governmental Education Association, warmly welcomed all the leaders, guests, experts and scholars attending the seminar. President Li briefly introduced the basic situation of the university. He specifically mentioned that this year is the 40th anniversary of the founding of Zhejiang Shuren University and the 20th anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s visit to our university, and sincerely invited all the leaders, experts, and peers to visit our university to participate in the celebrations at that time, to celebrate the birth of the university, and to create a better future together.

Prof. Xu Xuqing, Dean of China Institute of Private Higher Education of Zhejiang Shuren University and the Convenor of this Seminar, delivered a speech.

At the seminar, more than 10 experts made wonderful and insightful reports on the development issues faced by private colleges and universities in the context of high-quality development and the construction of a powerful country in education, such as classification and management, university evaluation, teaching reform, enterprise-run schools, policy improvement and application of degree programs, which were welcomed by attendees.

The influence of our university in the field of private higher education research has been further promoted through the successful convening of this seminar, which also plays an important role in deepening regional research and exchanges in private higher education, and stimulating the high-quality development of private universities.
