The launch meeting of the “Pioneer” and “Leading Wild Goose” Program of Tackling Key Problems in research and development, “Research and Development of Key Technologies and Equipment for Monitoring, Early Warning, and Risk Prevention and Control of Major Basin-wide Flood Disasters”, hosted by Teacher Zhao Kehua of our university was successfully held on June 24, 2023. More than 20 leaders, including Prof. Ye Shiping, Vice President of our university, Prof. Jin Jinbiao, Director of the Scientific Research Department, Prof. Wang Wanliang, Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology, and Prof. Wang Zhangquan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Information Science and Technology, Prof. Zhang Rengong, Chairman of Zhejiang Yugong Information Technology Co., Ltd., President Zeng Gangfeng of Taizhou Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power Survey and Design Institute, Prof. Zhao Yanwei from Hangzhou City University, and Dr. Wang Songsong from Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power, attended the meeting totally.
In the program of “Research and Development of Key Technologies and Equipment for Monitoring, Early Warning, and Risk Prevention and Control of Major Basin-wide Flood Disasters”, the researchers are planning to develop the monitoring and early warning equipment for major basin-wide floods and the decision support system for risk prevention and control, in order to realize the monitoring and early warning for major basin-wide flood disasters and the scientific dispatch of emergency rescue resources, and contribute to the improvement of the capacity of coping with flood disasters and the safety and security of the people's lives and properties in Zhejiang Province.
Through this meeting, the early-stage preparations have been done well for the smooth implementation of the program.
