The Meeting on Writing and Editing Terms in Social Medicine of the National Committee for Terms in Public Health and Preventive Medicine Held at Our University
In order to further promote the writing and editing of Chinese terms in social medicine, the Meeting on Writing and Editing Terms in Social Medicine of the National Committee for Terms in Public Health and Preventive Medicine was held from June 27 to 29, 2023 at our university. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Guo Yan of Peking University, the Chief Editor of the Editorial Committee for Terms in Social Medicine. The attendees of this meeting included Prof. Li Lu, President of our university and Chief Reviewer of the Editorial Committee for Terms in Social Medicine, Shang Tao, Director of the Medicine Office of China National Committee for Terms in Sciences and Technologies, and Assistant Researcher Liu Mengran and Dr. Dong Zhe from the Office of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, as well as 15 social medicine experts from 11 universities such as Peking University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Renmin University of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sichuan University and Shandong University.
Prof. Guo Yan reviewed the progress of the writing of terms in social medicine, introduced the topics and tasks of this meeting, and emphasized the significance of writing and editing the terms in social medicine to the development of the discipline of public health and preventive medicine.
Prof. Li Lu pointed out that we should fully understand the scientific nature, normalization and authoritativeness of the terminology system during the editing process, and the terminology editing strongly promoted the gradual improvement of the “terminology system, knowledge system and discipline system” of social medicine, and he put forward relevant suggestions through combining with the previous writing of terms.
The success of this meeting has laid a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the editing and reviewing of the terms in social medicine of national public health and preventive medicine.
