From October 23rd to 26th, 2025, the “2025 Korea-China Economic Development Forum”, jointly organized by Zhejiang Shuren University, Kyonggi University, the Korean Economic Association, Peking University, and other institutions, was held in Jeju City, South Korea. The forum, themed “Restructuring the Global Economic Order -- Challenges and Opportunities for Asia-Pacific”, brought together over one hundred representatives from Chinese and South Korean governments, academia, and industry to focus on challenges such as unilateralism and supply chain risks, and explore cooperative paths for regional integration and innovative development.

This forum featured an opening ceremony, round-table meetings, and parallel forums, closely linked with the agenda of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting held concurrently in South Korea. Professor Yan Hong, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Zhejiang Shuren University, delivered a keynote speech at the Round-Table Meeting on “Sustainable Cooperation and Development in the Asia-Pacific”. Using the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Zhejiang as a case study, Professor Yan emphasized that “integrity is the foundation for sustainable development in East Asia”. The delegation of the School of Economics and Management also presented the “Shuren Proposal” for digital economic development, sharing research findings in fields like artificial intelligence and the low-altitude economy to promote industrial transformation and cooperation between China and South Korea.

During the forum, the School of Economics and Management at Zhejiang Shuren University reached a consensus with the universities in South Korea on industry-academia-research cooperation in the digital economy and joint talent cultivation, laying the foundation for deepening China-South Korea educational collaboration. This forum highlighted the proactive role of the school in international academic exchanges and think tank development, and injected new momentum into building an open and inclusive community with a shared future in the Asia-Pacific region.
