The Fourth Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum Jointly Organized by Zhejiang Shuren University and Belarusian State University Held Successfully

From November 6-7, the Fourth Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum jointly organized by Zhejiang Shuren University and Belarusian State University was successfully held in Hangzhou in the way of combining online and offline meetings. Focusing on “Intelligence, Environment and Health: The Youth’s Responsibility, Missions and Duties in the Global-Pandemic Era”, we invited both domestic and overseas experts and scholars to emphatically discuss the important missions of the educated youth in the process of building a community with a shared future for mankind under the background of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Almost 200 people attended this forum, including Cai Xiujun, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Gu Jianxin, Deputy Director-General and Level 1 Bureau Rank Official of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Zhejiang Province, Li Yong, Level 2 Bureau Rank Official of the Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, Ma Qiying, National Distinguished Professor of China, Qiushi Chair Professor of Zhejiang University, Doctoral Supervisor of the College of Environmental and Resource Sciences of Zhejiang University, Iryna Barzenka, Belarusian Expert and Associate Professor of Education Science and Educational Development, Horikawa Tomohiro, Vice President of Shizuoka Sangyo University in Japan, Engr. Rogelio Antenor, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Batangas State University in Philippines, Zhang Hongyang, President of the Philippine Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce and the Philippines-China Education and Technology Promotion Association, Shuenn-Ren Cheng, Vice President of Cheng Shiu University in Taiwan, Zhang Keli, Vice President of Fooyin University in Taiwan, Wu Yue, Director of the Europe Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Zhejiang Province,Liu Fei, Level 4 Division Rank Official of the Europe Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Zhejiang Province, Zhang Xianliang, Secretary of the Leading Party Group of Science and Technology Bureau and Director General of Emergency Management Bureau of Keqiao District, Shaoxing, Wang Wei, CEO and Founder of Hangzhou Lelian Network Technology Co., Ltd., and the leaders, middle-level cadres and representatives of teachers and students from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Hangzhou Normal University, Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, Shaoxing University, Huzhou University, Jiaxing University, Zhejiang Police Vocational Academy and Shuren University. Zhang Qing, the Secretary of the Party Committee of our university hosted the opening ceremony, and he hoped that the experts and scholars shared their insights, discussed the responsibilities, missions and duties of young people in the global-pandemic era, and contributed their wisdom and strength to improving people's well-being in the region and the world at large.

Li Lu, the President of our university, delivered a welcome speech. On behalf of nearly 20,000 teachers and students of Shuren University, he extended a warm welcome to the experts and guests who attended this forum, and expressed his sincere thanks to the Department of Foreign Affairs of Zhejiang Province, the Provincial Department of Education, and the Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs for their powerful guidance, and to governments at all levels, sister universities and partner enterprises for their strong support. And the President Li also briefly reviewed the university's history and achievements of communication and cooperation, in order to actively respond to Chairman Xi Jinping’s major initiative to build the “Belt and Road”, our university signed the agreement on friendly exchange between universities with Belarusian State University, and initiated the cooperation with Belarusian universities and research institutions in science and technology, education, teacher training, and high-end talents introduction. He pointed out that the Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum jointly held by our university and Belarusian State University established a platform for friendly and academic dialogue between China and Belarus, effectively promoting the exchanges between the intellectual youth of both countries, and thus better promoting common values of peace, development, equity, justice, democracy and freedom for all mankind, as well as injecting the power of culture and precipitating the factor of civilization for building a community with a shared future for mankind. And he also believed that with the Forum, the in-depth exchange between experts and scholars of the two countries, especially young scholars, could further deepen the exchange of education and science and technology between China and Belarus, promote the achievements of academic cooperation between China and Belarus, and enhance the building of the community with a shared future for mankind with countries along the “Belt and Road”, and wished the Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum a great success!

In the opening speech, Cai Xiujun, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, expressed his sincere welcome to the Chinese and foreign guests, scholars and colleagues participating in the conference on behalf of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He said that the cooperation and exchanges between Zhejiang Shuren University and Belarusian State University, supported and promoted by governments at all levels of China and Belarus and all sectors of society, had shown distinctive characteristics in the fields of personnel training, scientific research, teacher training, and social services. He pointed out that the Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum was successfully held for three sessions, which was not only one of the major achievements of the cooperation between these two universities, but also a platform to enhance mutual understanding between the young people of China and Belarus and to develop innovative thinking, as well as an important bridge and link for promoting young students and scholars to carry out scientific, technological and cultural exchanges. And he emphasized that overcoming the epidemic through solidarity and cooperation and jointly building a human health community are the common goals of people all over the world, and it was also the responsibility and duty of the young generation. He also wished the 4th Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum a complete success!

Konstantin Kozadaev, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education, Belarusian State University, Andrei Andreev, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Shanghai, and Gu Jianxin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Zhejiang Province, A.E. Rulikevich, Chairman of the Economic Committee of Executive Council of Minsk Oblast of the Republic of Belarus, and Li Yong, Level 2 Bureau Rank Official of the Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province respectively delivered sincere speeches as guests.

In the session of keynote speeches, five experts and scholars from China and Belarus gave wonderful keynote speeches respectively, which were presided over by Vice President Chen Jun.


Cai Xiujun, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Dean of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine and Vice Dean of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, focused on "Innovation and High-quality Development of Healthcare"; Sergey Ablameyko, Academician, Member of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences and Academy of Engineering, Member of the European Academy of Sciences, and Professor of Belarusian State University, centered on "Analysis of Microscopic Images and Video for Disease Diagnosis in Intelligent Healthcare"; Zheng Shusen, Academician, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Foreign Academician of the National Academy of Medicine of France and Dean of Shulan International Medical College of Zhejiang Shuren University, paid attention to "Liver Transplantation: Past, Present and Future"; Vladimir Agabekov, Academician, Member of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Chemistry of New Materials of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, focused on "New Eco-friendly Materials for Agriculture and Industry", and Ma Qiying, National Distinguished Professor of China, Qiushi Chair Professor of Zhejiang University, Doctoral Supervisor of the College of Environmental and Resource Sciences of Zhejiang University, centered on the topic of “Oral Bioavailability of As, Cd and Pb in Foods: Implications for Human Health”, to give excellent academic reports respectively.


Vladimirovna Kabachenoskana, Dean of the College of Aesthetic Education, and Kozel Igor, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of Belarusian State Pedagogical University Named After Maxim Tank, delivered speeches to congratulate the opening of Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum, and led Chinese and Belarusian students to perform an instrumental ensemble of big cymbals.

Four sub-forums on environmental restoration, health promotion, intelligent healthcare and functional ecomaterials were also set up in this forum, and relevant experts and scholars in China and abroad had in-depth discussions and exchanges by focusing on the topics of the forum.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Tatsiana Savitskaya, Deputy Director of the Department of Chemistry of Belarusian State University.

Ye Shiping, Vice President of Shuren University, said in his concluding speech that experts and scholars in China and abroad had extensively exchanged academic achievements, discussed questions, absorbed new ideas, and stimulated new thinking around the theme of "Intelligence, Environment and Health: The Youth's Responsibility, Missions and Duties in the Global-Pandemic Era", to reach consensus, explore intersections and find the meeting points of cooperation, which greatly promoted extensive and in-depth ideological and academic exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Belarusian young people, and had been well received by experts and scholars. He pointed out that in the face of the severe epidemic situation, the rigorous and realistic attitude of all academic experts, the mission and responsibility of the vast number of young scholars, and their spirit of actively pioneering and innovating to find a way out were moving and impressive. With the joint efforts of the leaders, experts, and teachers and students of peer colleges and universities, all the agendas of the 4th Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum were completed, which achieved a complete success. This was a harmonious forum, a conference of exchanging experience, making friendly contacts and promoting friendship, and also a fruitful conference.

The Chinese-Belarusian Youth Forum was jointly initiated by our university and Belarusian State University in 2015, and has been successfully held for three sessions. It has become an important platform for the young people of China and Belarus to exchange academic achievements and ideas, with influence extending to many countries and regions. New changes have taken place in the form and content of this forum: for the first time, Chinese and overseas attendees engaged in dialogues and communications via video links; for the first time, there were three academicians, including Belarusian academician, attending the forum; for the first time, four sub-forums on environmental restoration, health promotion, intelligent healthcare and functional ecomaterials were set up.
