Good News: Academician Zheng Shusen, Dean of Shulan International Medical College, Won the 14th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Prize

On May 30th, the 14th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Prize, the highest award in the engineering field in China, was announced in Beijing. After being reviewed by 9 departments of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Regional Review Committees from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, 39 experts won the prizes, including Zheng Shusen, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

 

Academician Zheng Shusen, Dean of Shulan International Medical College of Zhejiang Shuren University, is a well-known expert in hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery and organ transplantation in China, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Foreign Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, France, and Academician of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. Now Academician Zheng is also the Director of the Key Lab of Combined Multi-organ Transplantation of the Ministry of Health, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of China Liver Transplant Registry Center (CLTR), and Director of the National Liver Transplantation Quality Control Center, Vice President of the Chinese Medical Association, President of the Organ Transplantation Physician Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and Vice President of the Chinese Society of Pancreatic Disease, President of Zhejiang Medical Doctor Association, Member of International Living Donor Liver Transplantation Executive Committee, and Member of International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, etc.

 

As the pioneer and leader of organ transplantation and combined multi-organ transplantation in China, Academician Zheng has devoted himself to the innovation, promotion and application of liver transplantation technology for many years, served as the chief scientist of the "973" Plan in the field of organ transplantation and presided over major national science and technology projects, and also made outstanding achievements. He worked as the editor-in-chief of many textbooks planned by the Ministry of Education and many monographs on transplantation, including Liver Transplantation, published more than 900 papers in internationally renowned SCI journals such as Nature and Gut, founded and edited the English magazine HBPD INT (included in the SCI), and edited the Chinese Journal of Transplantation as the editor-in-chief.
