Good News: Our University Won the First Prize in the China Undergraduate Life Sciences Contest (2022, Scientific Inquiry)

On Aug. 24, the final of China Undergraduate Life Sciences Contest (2022, Scientific Inquiry) came to an end, and the representative team of the School of Biology and Environmental Engineering of our university won the national first prize.

The China Undergraduate Life Sciences Contest is the one in the national academic competition ranking list for colleges and universities published by the China Association of Higher Education, which is held once a year. As the most influential national discipline competition for undergraduates in the field of life sciences, this contest attracted 8,614 teams from 528 universities across the country to participate in actively.

The entry Research on High-efficiency Expression and Catalytic Mechanism of Endo-β-1,4-xylanase Xyl11 in Pichia Pastoris guided by Zheng Fengzhen from the School of Biology and Environmental Engineering of our university stood out from 508 finals entries, and won the national first prize in scientific inquiry. This is also the first time for our university to win the first prize in the China Undergraduate Life Sciences Contest (Scientific Inquiry). In this contest, the teams of our university overcame many difficulties, achieved outstanding results, and won 1 first prize of the China Undergraduate Life Sciences Contest (2022, Scientific Inquiry) and 3 second prizes of the China Undergraduate Life Sciences Contest (2022, Innovation and Entrepreneurship), and 2 third prizes totally.
