School of Information Science and Technology Invited Academician David Firmin and Colleagues from Advanced Technology Research Institute of Imperial College for Investigation and Guidance

Dean of Advanced Technology Research Institute of Imperial College and Director Zhou Xuan led David, a professor of Imperial College and an academician of British Academy of Radiology, Academician Jon of University of Oslo and an academician of Norwegian Academy of Sciences, and Professor Fang Fei to visit School of Information Science and Technology in the afternoon of September 6. Professor Ren Tiaojuan, the dean, Professor Wang Zhangquan, secretary of the Party committee of the school, Professor Zhang Denghui, a vice-dean, professors, doctors and some backbone teachers of two related specialties of the school attended the exchange meeting. The meeting was held by Dean Ren Tiaojuan.

At the meeting, Professor Ren Tiaojuan firstly appreciated and welcome Academician David, Academician Jon and Dean Yang Guang to come to the school for guidance on behalf of the school, and Professor Ren Tiaojuan also introduced the research conditions and specialty construction conditions of the school related to their research orientations. Professor Ren Tiaojuan wished that both parties can improve the understanding on researched fields through exchange, to lay a good foundation for construction of research teams of related fields and promotion of sustainable scientific research works.

According to Dean Yang Guang, Advanced Technology Research Institute of Imperial College is a new research and development institute engaged in international scientific and technological exchange and cooperation, technology transfer between China and Europe and medical image technology research, so as to promote implementation and development of talents, technologies and projects in medical health fields in Europe in China.

At the meeting, both parties conducted wide exchange and discussion on contents such as scientific research cooperation, featured training and overseas exchange, to lay a solid foundation for subsequent cooperation. Both parties expected that they can work together to promote the talent cultivation and the scientific research under the digital promotion background.
