The Delegation from the University of Wolverhampton Visited Our University to Advance the Cooperative Education Program of Property Management

On the morning of October 15, 2025, a delegation from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom, led by Vice Chancellor Ebrahim Adia, visited the Gongchenqiao Campus of Zhejiang Shuren University. The delegation included Robin Carey, Head of International Cooperation Office; Paul Hampton, Head of the Department of Built Environment; Zhang Wenxin, Manager of International Partnerships; and Zhang Bo, Director of the Office in China. During the visit, both parties focused on implementing the cooperative education program of Property Management and held in-depth discussions on further deepening comprehensive cooperation between the two universities.

President Li Lu warmly received the delegation from the University of Wolverhampton led by Vice Chancellor Ebrahim Adia and held a symposium in Conference Room 426 of the Cha Chi-ming Building. At the beginning of the meeting, President Li Lu extended a warm welcome to Vice Chancellor Ebrahim Adia and his delegation on behalf of the university. He then introduced the university’s history, faculty strength, talent cultivation philosophy, and current state of international exchanges in detail. President Li emphasized the university’s consistent adherence to an open approach to running the university and expressed his hope to work closely with the University of Wolverhampton to secure approval for the cooperative education program of Property Management from the Ministry of Education. He further looked forward to taking this opportunity to expand the scope of collaboration between the two universities and yield more fruitful cooperation achievements.

Ebrahim Adia, Vice Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton, expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception extended by Zhejiang Shuren University. In his address, he highly commended the educational achievements of our university and shared valuable insights from the University of Wolverhampton regarding disciplinary development and the cultivation of talents with global perspectives. He also conveyed his appreciation for the tireless efforts made by our university in preparing the application for the cooperative education program of property management, assuring full support for both the approval process and implementation of this program. Furthermore, he expressed his willingness to enhance comprehensive collaboration between the two universities. Robin Carey, Head of International Cooperation Office, subsequently introduced the academic structure, research priorities, and global partnership network of their university, offering clear directional guidance for future cooperation between the two universities.

Under the joint witness of all attending guests, the two universities signed an agreement outlining the implementation of the cooperative education program. This signing marks a substantive phase in the cooperation between the two universities. In the future, they will engage in in-depth cooperation in areas such as joint talent cultivation, sharing of teaching resources, and scientific research collaboration, thereby providing a broader platform for the growth of students from both universities.

Following the signing ceremony, Chen Weizhe, Executive Dean of Shulan International Medical College, as a representative of an academic unit, highlighted the construction achievements and distinctive development features of the college. He expressed the college’s expectation to explore cooperation with the University of Wolverhampton in the fields of sharing medical education resources, conducting joint faculty-student research, and exchanging clinical skills, and work together to cultivate high-quality medical talents equipped to meet global healthcare development needs. Lu Yin, Director of the Office of Scientific Research, presented an overview of the university’s scientific research capabilities and international cooperation foundation, highlighting two key types of collaboration currently being advanced in China-European scientific cooperation: joint laboratory initiatives and intergovernmental scientific cooperation programs. She expressed the university’s expectation to explore joint research projects with the University of Wolverhampton in clinical medicine, environmental science, and AI-medicine interdisciplinary fields, jointly apply for international collaboration programs, promote bidirectional transformation of research outcomes, and conduct joint research initiatives involving both faculty and students. The University of Wolverhampton expressed strong interest in enhancing cooperation in medical and AI-related fields, conveyed their willingness to learn from our university’s experience, and demonstrated high expectations for future research collaboration.

At the conclusion of the symposium, the two universities exchanged cultural souvenirs representing their respective heritage and posed for group photographs, symbolizing a promising beginning of friendship and cooperation while bringing the event to a successful close. This visit has deepened mutual understanding between the two universities, facilitated the implementation of the cooperative education program of Property Management, and reached a preliminary consensus on talent cultivation, curriculum co-development, faculty and student exchanges, and joint research. The productive dialogue has paved the way for multi-faceted collaboration across various fields, enabling both universities to advance their internationalization efforts and jointly cultivate high-quality talents equipped to meet global development needs.
