The Results of the Second “Top Ten University Students” Selection were Announced

In order to thoroughly study and implement Chinese President Xi's thoughts on socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, steadily advance the thematic education of "Reading Original Texts, Original Works, and Classics", implement the fundamental task of fostering character and civic virtue, vigorously select and promote advanced models among college students in the new era, and fully demonstrate the high-spirited state of mind of our university's students, on November 19, the Second ”Top Ten University Students” Award Ceremony named as the “Youth Models” was held as scheduled in the Academic Report Hall of Gongchen Bridge Campus. Fan Huayan, Deputy Director of the Department of Student Affairs of the Party Committee of the university, Ji Haining, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of the university, and the league secretaries of various schools attended the event and served as judges.

In early November, 87 young students stood out from more than 18,000 students after independent registration, recommendation by the Youth League Committee of schools and qualification review by the Youth League Committee of the university. On this basis, the Department of Student Affairs of the Party Committee and the Youth League Committee of the university ultimately selected 20 young students as candidates for the second session of the university’s “Top Ten Students” based on their excellent character, outstanding achievements, and exemplary deeds. After on-site presentations, evaluations, and scoring, the candidates with the highest scores in each category were awarded the honorary title of “Top Ten University Students” in the second session held by the university.

After intense competition in various stages, Zhang Hengda from the School of Humanity and Foreign Languages, Zheng Xinyi and Ye Jia from the School of Biology and Environmental Engineering, Bao Zhibin from the School of Management, Chen Yan from the School of Economics and Social Welfare, Ruan Yuhang from the School of Urban Construction, Shao Yunyuan from Shulan International Medical College, Kang Mengfan from the School of Urban Construction, Shan Junhao from the School of Information Science and Technology, and Cai Shuangye from the School of Management stood out among the 20 candidates and were honored with the title of “Top Ten University Students” in the second session held by the university.

The university has always attached great importance to the ideological and political guidance of young students, vigorously selected and promoted advanced models, and was committed to telling the youth stories of Shuren, disseminating the youth voices of Shuren, and establishing a positive youth image of Shuren. At present, a lively and vibrant atmosphere of "comparing, learning, catching up, and striving for excellence" has been created to inspire students to emulate the virtuous and capable among them throughout the university. The “Top Ten University Students” award is the highest honor bestowed by our university to recognize outstanding youth students. It aims to identify and honor ten exemplary students who excel in morality, student leadership, public welfare, literature and art, entrepreneurship, sports, scientific research, practical skills, academics, and self-improvement. These students are recognized by both teachers and peers for their outstanding deeds, strong typicality, and distinctive characteristics of the times. By leveraging the power of these models, we aim to inspire more youth students beside them to pursue upward mobility and virtue, foster better qualities, and enhance their aesthetics. Furthermore, this initiative further promotes the education of cultivating good study habits, ensuring that students keep in mind deeply and take actions practically, and achieve tangible results. In recent years, our university has successively educated 67 outstanding youth student representatives, including National Excellent Communist Youth League Members, Self-improvement Stars among Chinese College Students, Provincial Excellent Communist Youth League Members, Provincial Top Ten University Students, Provincial Advanced Individuals, Provincial Outstanding Communist Youth League Members with Outstanding Achievements, trainees of the Provincial “Youth Marxist Training Program”, and pre-selected presenters of the fourth batch of “Post-00s Talkers” pf the province. These representatives have set up models for the growth, talent development, and comprehensive development of our university's youth students.
